Top films at Iran box office released

The bestselling films at Iranian box office for August 7-13, 2024 have been unveiled, with ‘Texas 3’ selling almost two trillion rials.

The top-selling movies at the Iranian box office from Wednesday last week to this Tuesday are as follows:

1. ‘Texas 3’ directed by Masoud Atyabi (Sold tickets: 3,417,334; Total gross: 1,918,070,379,000 rials)

2. ‘Bloody Alligator’ directed by Javad Ezzati (Sold tickets: 2,782,932; Total gross: 1,671,378,972,500 rials)

3. ‘Intoxicated by Love’ directed by Hassan Fathi (Sold tickets: 2,056,372; Total gross: 1,186,001,182,500 rials)

4. ‘Don't Be Embarrassed 2’ directed by Reza Maqsoudi (Sold tickets: 1,281,978; Total gross: 702,646,947,000 rials)

5. ‘Year of the Cat’ directed by Mostafa Taqizadeh (Sold tickets: 1,177,442; Total gross: 643,398,600,000 rials)

‘Texas 3’ resumes the story from where it was left off in ‘Texas 2’. Sasan and Bahram have to find the rest of the statues to solve the security issue and get rid of the hostage situation.

‘Bloody Alligator’ is about two young men who are suffering from a huge trouble while dealing with some financial problems. So, they make their minds to start gambling in hope of solving the financial problems.

‘Intoxicated by Love’ portrays the story of the Iranian poet Rumi, his bond with his mentor Shams Tabrizi, and his profound influence on Rumi's life and his love for God.

‘Don't Be Embarrassed 2’ resumes the story from where it was left off in ‘Don't Be Embarrassed 1’. It tells the story of a middle-aged couple expecting a baby. This brings them new challenges while living in their small village.

‘Year of the Cat’ tells the story of a tall man who was born in year of the cat! He wants to be famous and his attempts in the year of the cat creates troubles for the people around him.
